We are so proud to have dedicated the D. Kent and Linda C. Anderson and Robert L. and Jean T. Clarke Center on May 22. More than 400 guests enjoyed touring the three-story Anderson-Clarke Center and Hudspeth Auditorium after a ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Rice Board of Trustees Chair Bobby Tudor, Rice President David Leebron, Dean Mary McIntire, Susie and Mel Glasscock, Kent and Linda Anderson and Bob Clarke.
“If there’s one point at which we know that William Marsh Rice‘s vision and Edgar Odell Lovett’s vision intersected, it was around this idea that this institute, which became this university, would be something great for the city of Houston,” said Leebron. “So this is truly an extraordinary day for us, as a little over 100 years later, we have put a permanent building on our campus dedicated to the School of Continuing Studies. This is a project of people with a vision for the School of Continuing Studies who sustained that vision for a very long time. I want to thank, in particular, Mel and Susie Glasscock, who have brought not just vision, but heart and passion to the project. I also would like to thank the Anderson and Clarke families.”
