Kay Walther, CPA joined Blazek & Vetterling in 1994 and became a partner of the firm in 2002. In addition to serving clients as an audit engagement partner, she serves as the firm’s managing partner. Her clients include schools, churches, environmental organizations, private foundations, health care providers, social service agencies, and museums. She also plays a significant role in the firm’s staff training, mentoring, and evaluation. In addition to expertise in accounting and auditing standards as established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, she has significant experience with government auditing standards of the federal government and its various agencies. Kay is responsible for numerous private and public foundation clients and often provides her expertise in grants, investments, and financial reporting. Kay has been an instructor for the Leadership Institute for Nonprofit Executives at the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Rice University since its inception in 2007 and presented seminars with United Way of Greater Houston and its National Financial Management Forum, Houston Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, National Society of Fundraising Executives, American Law Institute and the University of Texas Law Institute for Tax Exempt Organizations.
